The Client 

  • A substantial District Council  

  • Telephony supports communications with its rate payers, contractors and internal council staff 

  • They were in the process of migrating to a cloud voice platform  

  • They recognised that they still used a significant level of legacy telephony services, particularly around their remote locations 

  • Many of these services they no longer used while others could be replaced with more modern services 

  • They wanted to better understand of the telco services they were consuming, and which still were being used 

  • They quickly realised they needed specialist guidance and additional resource to help them assess their telco invoices, current service utilisation and alternatives where legacy services could be replaced 

  • They wanted an independent third party who knew the industry and market and were confident in understanding the invoicing and the services being used 

What We Did 

  • Edge was engaged to complete a telco audit which included reviewing invoices and identifying services no longer used 

Outcome 

  • The Audit uncovered areas of savings resulting in the council saving $2,000 per month, $24,000 per annum
